ERBJUDER BIOFEEDBACK ALLERGILINDRING?

Worldwide, millions of people suffer from allergies. For some, the symptoms vary from sneezing to a runny nose. For others, Allergier cause headaches and other debilitating physical pains. While traditional medicine remains a popular remedy, new alternative methods like biofeedback are increasingly helping allergy sufferers take control of their symptoms in a natural way.

Biofeedback is known to decrease the required dosage of traditional drugs, sometimes even removing the need for allergy medication altogether.

What are allergies?

To help you understand how biofeedback works for allergies, let’s first explain what allergies are and what causes their symptoms in the first place.

Allergies occur when your immunförsvaret reacts to foreign substances (allergens) which your body considers harmful. However, the body is overreacting, as the allergens are, in fact, not (that) threatening at all!

To tackle the allergens, your body produces an overflow of histamine which negatively affects your body’s natural balance. In other words, whenever you come into contact with the allergen your body deems dangerous, your airways, sinuses, skin and even digestive system may become inflamed.

3 common allergy causes

What causes the body to overreact in this way? Opinions as to what causes allergies vary, as every body is unique. Still, the three most commonly accepted explanations are:

  • Weather and climate change:

Due to changed weather and climate conditions, the traditional pollen season starts earlier and lasts longer. Rising greenhouse gases are likely to be a part of the problem as well.

  • Improved living conditions:

Compared to our ancestors, we suffer much less early childhood infections. Most families like to keep their homes squeaky clean, so that our immune systems generally have little to be alarmed about. Additionally, urban environments such as offices are a hot spot for indoor allergens and pollutants which we are not used to at home.

  • Increased stress and anxiety:

Increased levels of stress and anxiety can trigger an allergic reaction in the body as well. Just think of people who get hives or who have to be extra careful to avoid asthma attacks when under pressure.

Allergies can point to the brain under stress

When under emotional stress, the brain can mistakenly produce antibodies to tackle allergens which are in fact not even physically around, or at least not in harmful numbers. Your body’s allergic reaction is an unconscious attempt of the brain to protect you. This explains why people suffering from hives often see their skin clear up after mastering avkoppling techniques. However, relaxion methods merely calm the brain down. They do not re-educate it.

How biofeedback offers allergy relief

Enter biofeedback. While most allergies can never be completely cured, biofeedback therapy can re-educate the immune system.

What that means, exactly? In a healthy body, every cell vibrates at its ideal frequency. But when we feel stressed or anxious, the cells that make up the brain and immune system can start to vibrate differently. In some bodies, this imbalance messes with the immune system, triggering allergies or making existing allergic reactions worse.

Biofeedback therapy

During biofeedback therapy, a biofeedback-enhet detects which cells are out of balance and helps the immune system return to its healthy frequency by sending electrical pulses to the unconscious parts of the brain. Because the immune system remembers how it is supposed to function, biofeedback therapy makes allergy medication and other treatments work more efficiently.
